'We're so obsessed with spooky season we got engaged on Halloween - with a COFFIN ring box'

A Halloween-mad tattoo artist has revealed the moment her fiancé proposed to her during spooky season – complete with a COFFIN ring box.

Becci Murphy, 33, had been dating her drummer boyfriend Philip Kennedy for 13 years before he popped the question on October 31 last year.

He got down on one knee after the pair had spent the evening celebrating their favourite night of the year at a crazy golf event in Rossendale.

Once finished, the Bolton couple headed home to enjoy a spooky film – with Becci completely unaware of what Philip had secretly planned.

Midway through the movie, Philip, who had been learning magic for the past few years, pulled out a pack of cards and asked Becci to pick one.

Once she’d selected, he shuffled the cards, plucked one out and asked if it was hers. “I looked and it wasn’t, so I laughed,” Becci said.

But as she looked up, Philip had the Joker card in his mouth – with the words “will you marry me?” written on it.

“The reference to the Joker card is really special because he asked me out 13 years ago on April Fool’s Day, so how could it not be the Joker that he used to propose?” Becci said.

Philip also went above and beyond with the spooky proposal theme and presented the ring in a coffin box.

Speaking about the 2022 spooktacular engagement, with her ring being made by Diamonds Factory, Becci said: “I’m not that much into glamorous jewellery, but the pieces I do like are low key and personal.
