We have to be ready for massive fights every weekend: Juergen Klopp

World Cup in Doha. Newly promoted Fulham on Saturday afternoon is the first test in the English Premier League for Liverpool. Manager Juergen Klopp shares his thoughts on the preseason, new signing Darwin Nunez's progression and Mo Salah's contract in this exclusive interview.

Excerpts:You said you feel like a bit of a teacher at Liverpool. What is your report look like from pre-season and what can realistically be improved? We won the Community Shield so that's a great confidence booster… Results could have been slightly better in preseason but the performance I'm not so happy with. There is a lot of what we can improve on and that's what we're working on at the moment.

Not only because we want to improve but it's that we have to improve because other teams obviously don't sleep. Yeah, we have to be ready for massive fights every weekend and that's what we keep trying to do. Liverpool is known to develop and recruit great players, how has Darwin Nunez fit in and what is his potential at Liverpool?Everything went pretty quick for Darwin in the last few years and his journey is an exciting one.

And he will make big steps with us definitely, his first big step was in the Community Shield but it was a hard preseason and in the preseason, players should not play like they usually play because we train really hard it would be kind of a bad sign if we will not work hard enough. He doesn't have the freshest legs ever in the training and training games. But in the same moment when you're a new player you get charged every day.

Everybody speaks about you and everyone's always doing everything so hectic. I'm not sure if it's my age or whatever. It's just it's really too hectic for me.
