'We found a mysterious locked door in our 1800s cottage and uncovered a secret behind it'
A couple have uncovered a mysterious locked door with a secret behind it whilst renovating their property. Vikkie Lee, who is a DIY home blogger, YouTuber, and TV presenter on ITV's Love Your Weekend, bought a 1800s farmhouse cottage with her partner.
Months into restoring the old house in Lincolnshire, which sits on a four acre farm, the pair came across a hidden door and decided to find out what was behind it. Vikkie unveiled the discovery in a video shared with her 31,000 followers on TikTok.
In the video, Vikkie can be seen chipping away at the sealed door with a hand axe and hammer, alongside the caption which read: "We found our 1800s cottage had a secret behind this blocked up mysterious door. It was not sharing it so easy."

Continuing to pry the door open, the caption then read: "What we were about to discover really surprised us... and we didn't know about it for months."
The video then unveiled a hidden staircase with some old wallpaper still remaining, showing the cottage used to be a two-storey building. The DIY enthusiast then revealed: "We discovered it used to be a Lincolnshire half house."
Commenting on the video, which has amassed 5.6 million views, one TikTok user wrote: "That looks exactly like the door that went upstairs in our old 1886 farmhouse! Same colour, same hardware, everything. We removed it and took it with us when we had to move! It was an old family home."
Another one of Vikkie's followers said: "Maybe I've watched too many scary movies, but when something is sealed like that there has to be a reason," as a second echoed: "Well done! That's us extra screwed now you've released whatever
