Family attraction two hours from Manchester branded 'strangest place in world'
A woman who explored a family friendly adventure park two hours from Manchester branded it the "strangest place in the world".
The Forbidden Corner is a unique fantasy-themed tourist attraction located near Middleham in the Yorkshire Dales, England. It is often described as a "folly garden" due to its fascinating features.
The attraction is the brainchild of Colin Armstrong, who originally created it as a private garden but it was opened to the public in the 1990s due to increasing demand. Nowadays, guests can explore incredible gardens and wander through tunnels, mazes and surprise chambers.
A TikToker called yorkshirefi said she drove an hour and a half to visit Forbidden Corner which resembles the 1986 fantasy film Labyrinth. It took her two hours to explore the full site and she captured her visit in a TikTok video.
Inviting viewers to come and explore with her, she says in the video: "Come with me to the strangest place in the world – it’s right here in Yorkshire. If you’ve ever wanted to step into a fantasy film like Labyrinth you will love this place.”
Thecontent creator, who often posts her travel experiences online, revealed there were plenty of surprises along the way. Depending on which path you opt to go down, you'll be confronted by anything from a Roman style temple to singing rats!
She added: “I’d have loved it here as a kid but my inner child had an amazing time. Even my husband, who was a bit cold and put off by the rain at the start, soon got into it. It took us about two hours to explore and at times crawl sound to see everything at the Forbidden Corner.”
