'We are not' - what Everton dressing room thinks about 'fight' for Premier League survival

Abdoulaye Doucoure insists Everton's dressing room is aware "we are not safe yet" as he vowed to help secure the club's Premier League status.

The midfielder said his teammates are "motivated to fight" for the club and believe they can take points from the upcoming home games against Brentford and Crystal Palace. He praised the supporters for the way they have rallied behind the squad and said the first team is desperate to show what it is capable of during the return to L4 after two away matches.

Doucoure admitted the players were disappointed after being unable to take three points from the trip to Watford and added: "At the moment, I think the momentum is good and the team spirit is very good."

Speaking after the goalless draw at Vicarage Road, Doucoure told EvertonTV: "We are a little bit disappointed because we came here to get three points, but every Premier League game is difficult. I think our legs were a little bit heavy. We didn't create so many chances, but it's still another point on the board and we'll keep going.

"Watford made it difficult for us, but you have to take the positive. Of course, we wanted to win and create a gap between ourselves and other teams but if you can't do that, then don't lose the game and we did that. Seven points from the past three games is good. At the moment, I think the momentum is good and the team spirit is very good. We're back at Goodison next and we need to show the same mentality, with more freshness."
