'We are in total shock': Tributes to 'favourite teacher' who died suddenly

A school community is reeling from the sudden loss of a "much-loved" teacher from Manchester who "put others first and always wanted the very best for the students she worked with".

Tracey Reeves, head of Year 10 at Carnforth High School, died "suddenly and unexpectedly" earlier this week. Described as a "valued and respected" educator, she had been part of the school's fabric for over two decades and cherished as a "loving and devoted wife and mother".

The school shared the "tragic news" to parents in a letter, while providing an space for grief through an online book of condolence, reports Lancs Live.

A statement released by the school read: "It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tracey Reeves, a valued and respected member of staff at Carnforth High School for more than 20 years. She was a loving, caring wife to Andrew and devoted mother to Michael.

"Tracey was a passionate Manchester United fan and proud of her Mancunian roots. She put others first and always wanted the very best for the students she worked with."

"Tracey was a special person, one who we will all remember."

Writing in the book of condolence, one student wrote: "I am heartbroken after hearing the news that my favourite teacher had died unexpectedly, she was always by myside cheering me on encouraging me never to give up... I am truly devastated that you have be taken by the angels will never forget all the help you gave me and the knowledge that you did. Fly High!!"
