Wayne Rooney’s stance on Man United job as he gets Plymouth axe after 25 games

Wayne Rooney has previously admitted he wants to manage Manchester United, but his Plymouth Argyle exit presents a big challenge to his managerial dreams.

The ex-Premier League icon was dismissed from his role at Argyle after enduring a second consecutive loss, which further solidified their position at the bottom of the Championship table. Argyle's last triumph in the league dates back to early November, with a series of six defeats and three draws sealing Rooney's fate as the club's manager.

Rooney's initial foray into management was at Derby County, where his tenure spanned from January 2021 to June 2022. He secured 24 victories for the club, with 22 draws and 39 defeats culminating in a win ratio of just 28.2%.
