Watching Hamilton play Dunfermline off the park convinced me Accies is right move, says Kai Kennedy

Kai Kennedy says watching Hamilton play Dunfermline "off the park" when he was on loan at the Pars earlier this season convinced him to make the switch to Lanarkshire.

The winger joined Accies on loan from Rangers on January 14 after he was recalled from his stay at Dunfermline at the start of the month.

Ironically, Kennedy made his debut against the Pars in a 1-0 defeat but as he prepared for his home bow at New Douglas Park this weekend against Ayr United he said: "When I played against Hamilton at Dunfermline [in December], the way they played was a way I felt would suit me.

"In both games against them Hamilton played Dunfermline off the park a wee bit and the football they played was good to watch.

"It wasn't so good for me to play in, but it was good to watch and that was a reason for me coming here.

"The result against them [Dunfermline] was disappointing last week but we'll look to get better and we've been working hard to improve ourselves on the training pitch.

"I know a few of the boys at Hamilton. 've played with Jamie Hamilton at Scotland level and that makes it easier than what it could have been [to settle in]."

This is Kennedy's fourth loan move in two seasons as he aims to really break into the Rangers first team, having made his one and only senior appearance for the club in 2020 during a Scottish Cup win over Stranraer.

But he insists his journey so far - Inverness, Raith, Dunfermline and now Accies - has helped him become a better player.

He added: "I think I've benefited in different ways [from the loan moves].
