WATCH: Thugs threaten terrified staff with golf club as they raid Morrisons petrol station

CCTV footage has revealed the moment a pair of thugs threatened terrified staff with a golf club as they raided a Morrisons store.

The robbery, at the Morrisons petrol station in Bredbury, Stockport, was reported on September 16 2021 with police launching an investigation after 200 boxes of cigarettes and cash were stolen.

Jordan Farran, 33 and Glen O'Donnell, 38, stormed into the petrol station with their faces covered and armed with a golf club before 'intimidating' staff into handing over the money and cigarettes and quickly fleeing the scene.

The pair were caught out after CCTV footage also captured their getaway, where police then discovered the car being used was registered to Farran. He was arrested just two days later, on September 18, and had his mobile phones seized.

Examination of the device showed that on the night of the robbery, Farran had travelled to O’Donnell's house and together the pair had made their way to Stockport.

This evidence contradicted Farran's initial claims in interview that he was at home all evening and, when questioned about the phone data, he stated he could not account for the movement of his phone.

Further CCTV enquiries then showed two men matching the description of the defendants arriving by car a short walk from the scene on the night of the robbery. The pair were then seen to leave the car and walk in the direction of the petrol station with their hoods up.

At Minshull Street Crown Court on Thursday (August 10), the pair were each sentenced to four years behind bars after pleading guilty to the charge of robbery.
