Former Hibs forward Martin Boyle made an immediate impact in Saudi Arabia as he notched on his debut for new club Al Faisaly.

The Australia star made the switch from Shaun Maloney's side in the January window as he banked the Hibees a cool £3m to pursue a life-changing payday in the Middle East.

Boyle, 28, sought advice from former manager Jack Ross before making the switch and in a goodbye message admitted it was a "hard decision".

But he's off to the best possible start after scoring for his new side in his first start against Damac.

Former Hearts defender Igor Rossi is a new team-mate of Boyle's and the Brazilian got the night off to a flyer on eight minutes before another Brazilian, also known as Rossi, doubled the advantage with Boyle setting him up.

Then it was over to Boyle whose 29th minute strike has him off the mark.

Bringing down a fabulous ball over the top from midfielder Ismael, the frontman brought it down with a deft touch before charging into the box.

A cool, low finish past opposition keeper Moustapha Zeghba opened his account and that's how it finished with a 3-0 home win.
