Watch Jimmy Thelin leave Andy Halliday high and dry as Aberdeen fans spot hilarious moment handshake went begging

Jimmy Thelin left Andy Halliday hanging for a handshake at full-time after the Aberdeen's win over Motherwell - and whether he meant it or not, fans are lapping it up.

The Dons continued their perfect start to life under the Swede with a 2-1 victory at Pittodrie thanks to Pape Gueye's match winning double. Five league wins from five mean they remain level on points with Celtic at the top of the Premiership and it's now ten competitive wins on the spin.

Life could hardly be better in the Granite City and the Sportscene highlights package showed a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment right on the full-time whistle. Affable boss Thelin shakes hands with the fourth official before making his way to the Motherwell dugout and working his way through the 'Well officials and coaching staff. He then reaches out towards Halliday, who was subbed off in the second half by Stuart Kettlewell and was heading out onto the pitch in his tracksuit.

Halliday takes a beat to spot Thelin and just as he goes to return the favour and reaches his arm out, Thelin pulls his arm away to shake another hand. It's unclear whether it was intentional 'bait', as one fan suggested, or just unfortunate timing, but it was a humorous moment as a bewildered Halliday looks up in surprise.
