WATCH | Glenn Maxwell takes catch of the season contender in BBL
Australian cricketing maestro Glenn Maxwell has taken one of the most brilliant catches you will ever see, and surely it's a contender for catch of the season.
Playing for Melbourne Stars against Brisbane Heat in the Big Bash League, Maxwell pulled off a stunning one-handed grab over the boundary rope.
Before landing outside the field of play, he launched the ball in the air, ran back infield and completed the catch to dismiss Will Prestwidge for 4 off the bowling of Dan Lawrence.
Mic'd up and speaking to commentators after the catch, Maxwell said that catching the ball outside the field of play and throwing it back to grab it again was something he practised for 15 minutes before the start of each game he plays, proving that practice certainly does make perfect.
The Heat posted 149/7 in their 20 overs, which the Stars chased down to win by 5 wickets, with Maxwell scoring a first-ball duck. Another Australian regular and Stars captain, Marcus Stoinis, made 62 off 48 balls to help his side home.
