Watch Conor McGregor's brutal first career stoppage win over Mo Taylor from 2008

When Conor McGregor elects to hang up the gloves (again), the Dublin fighter will undoubtedly go down as one of the biggest names in the history of mixed martial arts and indeed, UFC.

A former two-division UFC champion, ‘The Notorious One’ became the first person in the company’s history to hold two titles in separate divisions.

With all the accolades and multi-millions of dollars the Dublin fighter has stacked up, his moniker however, has always been one without flaws.

Indeed, footage has again been doing the rounds on social media of one of McGregor’s early career bouts from 2008.

In just his second professional career fight against Mo Taylor in May of that year, a youthful McGregor put on a brutal beatdown of his opponent in his home city at Cage Rage in Dublin.

As posted on Twitter by @MMAHistoryToday, fans and scouts alike caught an early glimpse of a future world champion, as the Irishman picked up his first stoppage victory inside a single round with a flurry of trademark left hands to a stricken Taylor’s head and torso.

It was a display that became familiar to his growing legion of fans in the years to come.

Interestingly, in his next fight, McGregor lost after stepping up to featherweight to make his debut against Artemij Sitenkov courtesy of a kneebar but it was a division that would go on to make McGregor a household name.

Winning gold for the first time against Chad Mendes at UFC 189 in July 2015, McGregor claimed the Interim Featherweight Championship after Jose Aldo was forced to withdraw through a rib injury.
