Canada's Alysha Newman is going for gold in the Olympic women's pole vault final at 12:15 p.m. ET at Stade de France in Saint-Denis, north of Paris, on Wednesday.

The 30-year-old Delaware, Ont., native qualified seventh on Monday.

Canada is also competing for a medal when Jean-Simon Desgagnes takes part in the men's 3000m steeplechase final at 3:43 p.m. ET.

Defending Olympic champion Andre De Grasse leads three Canadian sprinters in the men's 200m semifinal starting at 4:02 p.m. ET.

Aaron Brown races right after, at 2:10 p.m. ET, with Brendon Rodney also going for a final berth at 2:18 p.m. ET.
