WATCH | Brad Binder reflects on 'tough and super long' MotoGP race in Argentina
South African MotoGP star Brad Binder endured a forgetful race at the 2023 Argentinian Grand Prix.
Starting 15th, Binder had contact with Maverick Vinales going into Turn 5 on the opening lap. The Aprilia rider darted down Binder's inside, with the slight touch sending the Red Bull KTM man off his bike and rejoining Sunday's race in last place.
Though Binder eventually crossed the finish line in 17th place, it was far from the first place he secured in Saturday's Sprint Race.
Of course, making the race more challenging were the heavens opening up. Binder, ever the racer, was excited to get going in the soaking conditions, but the opening-lap incident prevented him from shining.

"I was quite excited to have a wet race. It's been quite a while since we had one. I felt pretty good," Binder said.
"Unfortunately, at the end of the back straight, I had a bit of a connection with someone, and the back-end spun around on me. Anyway, we finished the race: it was really tough and super long!
"Overall, it was a good weekend with the win yesterday (Saturday's Sprint Race). I'm looking forward to starting again in America."
The next race is at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, on 14-16 April.
Binder is eighth in the 2023 MotoGP championship after two races, with 22 points to his name.
