Watch Ben Doak leave Bayern Munich stars in the dust as Liverpool wonderkid wows Jurgen Klopp again

Ben Doak is fast becoming one of the hottest prospects in European football and continues to wow Liverpool in pre-season.

The former Celtic kid made the move to Anfield in 2022 for a fee of around £600,000 as Jurgen Klopp handed the 17-year-old major votes of confidence including five senior appearances in the Premier League last campaign. But now Doak has excelled in pre-season after the German coach deployed him in attack in friendlies alongside top stars such as Cody Gakpo and Dominik Szoboszlai, sealing his first senior goal for the Reds against Leicester City in a Singapore 4-0 rout.

And Klopp's men continued their preparations for the season ahead with a thrilling 4-3 defeat to Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, with former Celtic stalwart and new Reds captain Virgil Van Dijk on target. But it was speedy winger Doak that caught the eye once again, as he left the likes of Munich defender Bouna Sarr on his backside on more than one occasion after some incredible play on the flanks.

The skills on show had Liverpool fans calling for him to start when the Premier League season kicks off this month, as Klopp previously noted of the Anfield young contingent: “Ben Doak, oh my God, it’s much fun to watch these kids. Calum I’ve known him only nine days, he was injured before and now he was there. Koumas came on, Conor Bradley really good.

“The kids are really good and the others are really good already, we know that. Some of them might need to get through little holes here and then now because it’s really tough for them of course.”
