Warzone 2.0 new season release date and patch notes with map and gameplay changes

Call of Duty fans will finally be treated to the next season of Warzone 2.0 and Modern Warfare 2.

According to the developers, Season 2 will bring in a fresh wave of gameplay changes, improvements, and even a brand new map. Many of the new choices made in the second iteration of Warzone which some fans saw as controversial will also receive a myriad of changes - presumably following player feedback.

Season 2 will launch on February 15 and will see a wide variety of changes and brand-new additions to both Warzone 2.0 and Modern Warfare 2.

Ashika Island is an Asia-Pacific-themed map with Japanese motifs plastered all over. While the new map will be smaller than what players are used to, the waterway and mountain systems scattered around the area provide more strategic travelling.

The new island will also be the centrepiece for the return of a fan-favourite game mode.

Resurgence will be making a comeback for the first time on Warzone 2.0. The original Warzone-favourite will feature gameplay options for solos, duos, trios, and quads while having its own playlist which will be updated throughout the new season.

However, a new feature will be added to Resurgence known as 'Restore Honor' where each player will drop a dog tag after being eliminated from the match. The player's teammate, or enemy, can pick up the tags and receive a small in-game cash reward or a UAV ping to mark
