Warrington forward Jason Clark heading to France at season’s end

Warrington have confirmed that forward Jason Clark will leave the club at the end of the season.

Clark, 32, will join up with French Elite One Championship side Limoux Grizzlies ahead of their campaign.

The Australian arrived from South Sydney Rabbitohs for the 2019 season.

He made 75 appearances across four seasons for the Wolves, winning the Challenge Cup in his first year.

Wolves CEO Karl Fitzpatrick said: “Jason Clark has been the consummate professional throughout his time at the Club and really embedded himself within the local community.

“He’s a very popular member of team and the Club and I know he’ll add real value to the Limoux organisation. Although he’s not been playing regularly this year he always gives 100% in training and is always willing to pass on his valuable experience to the young fellas in the team.

“He’ll move on at the end of the season with our best wishes.”

It is the latest in a string of announcements by the Wolves as Daryl Powell rebuilds his squad.

Hometown prop Mike Cooper’s departure to Wigan has already been confirmed, while Josh Charnley is also set to move on.

Greece international Billy Magoulias was released recently, following Ellis Robson and Rob Butler out of the exit door.

More departures are expected with a raft of players in the current squad out of contract at the end of the year.

Warrington have already announced the capture of Catalans duo Gil Dudson and Sam Kasiano for 2023.

And they added to that today with the signing of Australia and Italy international prop Paul Vaughan.

Rumoured signings from the NRL include Canterbury full-back Matt Dufty and St George-Illawarra forward Josh McGuire.
