Warning to anyone with a Ring doorbell as subscription prices set to hike

Homeowners with a Ring doorbell have been given a one-month warning ahead of the price of their most basic package increasing by 40 per cent - and customers are not happy about it.

The home security device works by allowing you to see who's at your door whenever there's motion detected, even if you're not home. But Twitter users have suggested that it’s Ring that is ‘robbing’ customers with the new charges.

The basic package price will increase from £24.99 to £34.99 from July 1 - and comes with a host of new features in justification. But customers who are concerned about the cost of living crisis have vowed to cancel their subscription.

Taking to Twitter, Graham Murray, said: “@ring_uk, do you really think during this cost of living crisis, it’s wise to increase your protection plan costs by 40 per cent. I thought Ring doorbells were supposed to stop robbery! Ridiculous.”

Noah Sark added: “@ring_uk A 40 per cent price hike at a time when the cost of living for everybody is surging? Are you for real? It‘s absolutely outrageous.”

“@ring_uk 40% subscription increase is way too steep,” said @trixxie71. “ I have 2 devices considering selling them and moving away from Ring. Are you aware there is a cost of living crisis?”

And @ katweslowski wrote: “Just saw that @ring_uk have upped their prices by 40%! How is that even justified when most of us are just struggling to get by and a huge cost of living crisis. Will be cancelling after work tonight.”
