‘Wants a change’ - Guardiola could also lose ‘undroppable’ Man City star, says journalist

Journalist Ferran Martinez has now shared a major transfer update out of Manchester City in the last 48 hours involving star player Bernardo Silva.

The Sky Blues fan favourite, after being heavily linked with a move to Atletico Madrid last summer, has gone on to have the season of his life.

Bernardo has stood out as a pivotal star under Pep Guardiola as his side chase a second-successive Premier League title, even ranking in City’s top five league performers by average match rating according to WhoScored.

The Portugal international is simply ‘undroppable‘, as Guardiola himself put it earlier this campaign, evident by the fact only Ederson and Joao Cancelo have played more minutes in England’s top flight over 2021/2022.

Bernardo – famously a hard-worker who covers many, many miles per game – comes as a seriously crucial player at Eastlands and one who even tracks back to help out in defence.

The 27-year-old has averaged 1.7 tackles per 90 for City, the fourth-highest number out of their squad – again backing his real importance.
