Wales v Ireland team announcement LIVE: Matt Sherratt reveals first selection

Matt Sherratt will today name his Wales team to take on the vaunted Irish this weekend.

Sherratt is likely to ring the changes for the huge clash at the Principality Stadium. We understand that Gareth Anscombe, who has been brought into the squad, is likely to start at fly-half, with Ben Thomas and Max Llewellyn, another player who has been parachuted in, comprising the centre partnership.

Ellis Mee is set to be handed his first Wales cap with a start against Ireland, too, while it is likely to be an all-new front-row of Nicky Smith, Elliot Dee and WillGriff John.

After hugely disappointing defeats by France and Italy in the opening two rounds of the Six Nations, Wales are hoping Sherratt can help the team save face in the final three rounds of the tournament. However, coming up against Ireland is an unenviable task.

The team is likely to be announced at around 1.30pm. We will have all the build-up to the announcement as well as the reaction and press conference.
