Wales team announcement live updates as Gatland to name side for second Australia Test

Warren Gatland is set to announce his Wales side to face Australia in the second match of their tour Down Under.

Gatland's men are out for revenge after being beaten 25-16 by the Wallabies in Sydney on Saturday, a defeat which extends their losing run to eight successive games. It has also seen them drop out of the 10 highest ranked teams in the world for the first time ever as they now sit in 11th place.

A Welsh win is now imperative, not just to level up the series but to end the winless streak and give a young squad a much-needed confidence boost. However, they have been dealt a hammer blow ahead of their second Test.

Tonight's squad announcement was originally scheduled for Tuesday, but was pushed back as Gatland and his coaches waited on injury updates to a number of key players. They have now learnt that star man Aaron Wainwright has been ruled out for the next four months after tearing his hamstring, with James Botham set to replace him in the side.

Gatland will confirm his team and provide further injury updates when he announces his side at midnight tonight (GMT). We'll have all the latest news from Melbourne right here.
