Wales 26 Scotland 27 RECAP as Scots survive by the skin of their teeth to break Cardiff curse

Scotland got off to a winning start in the Six Nations but they came close to being on the losing end of a famous comeback form Wales.

The dark blues hadn't won away to Wales for a staggering 22 years - so long ago that manager Gregor Townsend was PLAYING in that previous win but his side roared into a 27-point lead with a win seeming done and dusted at half time.

However, a relatively young and inexperienced Welsh side were swept up in a cauldron of Cardiff momentum as they fought back with 26 unanswered second-half points to go within a single point of the visitors.

The roof on the Principality Stadium was closed but the home support nearly made sure it came off of the Principality Stadium during a sensational second 40 minutes.

Scotland are third favourites to win the Six Nations behind Ireland, who started their defence of the title with an impressive win in France on Friday, and the Auld Enemy England who defeated Italy earlier this afternoon.

Wales' Aaron Wainwright tells BBC Sport:

We probably wanted the game to go on another five minutes.

We left ourselves too much to do, and were probably not accurate enough in the first half.

A lot of their ball came from our errors.

As the scoreboard kept ticking down the belief grew, but first-half inaccuracies cost us.

A Murrayfield clash with France next Saturday, kick off is at 14:15.
