A relentless South Africa tore Wales apart as they inflicted a record 73-0 defeat on Steve Tandy's men in Cardiff.
Tandy's side knew they were facing a formidable task ahead of kick-off, but they were completely blown away by the Springboks who scored 11 tries without reply at the Principality Stadium. It was Wales' heaviest ever home defeat as they were kept scoreless at home for the first time in decades.
The hosts - who were missing 13 players due to the game being played outside of World Rugby's official Test window - barely got their hands on the ball for much of the game, with Rassie Erasmus' side in full control throughout as they showed exactly why they are the reigning world champions.
However, the game was marred late on as Eben Etzebeth was shown a straight red card for a gouge on Alex Mann.
Gerhard Steenekamp and Ethan Hooker both crossed to put the Springboks ahead after 15 minutes, before a powerful scrum saw Jasper Wiese touch down as his side shoved the Welsh pack back over their own try-line on the half hour mark.
Morne van der Berg then made it four with the clock in the red at the end of a first half which saw Tandy's men simply overpowered by the Boks.
Wilco Louw, Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu and Canan Moodie then all crossed in the first 10 minutes of the second half, with the impressive Andre Esterhuizen scoring their eighth try of the afternoon.
Feinberg-Mngomezulu then grabbed his second before Ruan Nortje brought Rassie Erasmus' side brought their try count up to double figures and Eben Etzebeth added another with five minutes to go.
However, Etzebeth would moments later add a red blot to what had been a dominant performance from his side, as he was sent from the field after his unsavoury clash with Mann.
