W Series: Two double-headers as 2022 calendar extended to ten races

The W Series is set for its biggest racing calendar yet after two blockbuster double-header race weekends were added to the schedule.

This year, the tournament will visit eight circuits, including a first ever Grand Prix weekend in Asia.

Thanks to the ongoing partnership with Formula 1, the W Series will race on the undercard of the world’s biggest international racing championship.

Ahead of what promising to be another thrilling season of W Series action, a series of huge announcements have been made.

Two-time reigning champion Jamie Chadwick announced her return for a third season and she was also unveiled as the first addition to Jenner Racing.

The new W Series team, spearheaded by former athlete and television personality Caitlyn Jenner, will join the likes of Racing X and PUMA on the grid this season.

Starting in the US, the Championship will make its Miami debut for an opening double-header weekend at the Miami International Autodrome.

The roster will then take drivers around the globe to revisit iconic tracks including Silverstone and the Hungaroring before an Asian debut in Suzuka, Japan.

Rounding off the 2022 campaign will be the second double-header weekend in Mexico City, Mexico.

The W Series will also return to the Circuit of the Americas, where more than 400,000 spectators across the double-header finale weekend watched Chadwick win her second Championship.

A thrilling title race between the Brit and her compatriot Alice Powell last season was nothing like fans had seen before. Heading into the last two races, the two were tied on points, leaving the battle for the trophy wide open.
