Visa issues may prolong Tambwe's Bulls stay

Star winger Madosh Tambwe's stay at the Bulls may be extended due to visa problems.

Tambwe, 25, recently signed a deal with French Top 14 club Bordeaux, but his move to France has reportedly hit a stumbling block.

According to Netwerk24, the Democratic Republic of Congo-born player's application for a work visa has been rejected by the French government.

Bordeaux are working hard behind the scenes to resolve the issue but it could mean Tambwe stays in Pretoria for a while longer.

After their Currie Cup win over Griquas last weekend, Bulls director of rugby Jake White quipped that Tambwe may yet stay in Pretoria.

"We may still keep him here. You need a visa to work in France. You never know," White told reporters.

Meanwhile, the Bulls on Thursday announced the signing of Springbok wing Sbu Nkosi from the Sharks.

Nkosi is considered a replacement for Tambwe.
