Virgin Media down: Live updates as users report problems across UK

Hundreds of people have reported issues with Virgin Media Broadband on Wednesday, saying they can't access the internet with the provider. There are several reports on social media and on Down Detector showing an outage, with others saying they can't access the service but that no problems are being reported.

According to Down Detector, problems started in the early hours of the morning with a large spike of reports. These dropped not long after but have started rising again on Wednesday morning.It appears as though 76% of users reported problems with their landline internet and 16% experienced a total outage.

Around 8% also struggled with TV connection. Customers were unhappy on social media with the service.

One person said: "Our Internet has been down for 11 hours. Customer services over the phone are useless and the estimated time for fixing was originally 5.30 am and is now 5.30pm.

Please can you get in touch with an engineer to give us a proper reconnection time ASAP!"Another said: "please can I have an honest answer here and just tell me straight. will my Wi-Fi in SE London work today at all or will it be a repeat of last week's debacle? I've already lost over £300 work this month from these issues and need to know if I need to work elsewhere" Live updates below:
