Virals: Liverpool starlet Neco Williams 'could leave' following EFL enquiry

Liverpool youngster Neco Williams reportedly ‘could leave’ Anfield before the transfer deadline passes.

The 20-year-old has previously been linked with an exit from the Reds but any move has so far failed to materialise.

Now an enquiry from Championship side AFC Bournemouth could give the Welsh full-back an opportunity to play regular first-team football.

According to a report from the Liverpool Echo, as cited on Twitter, the South Coast club have ‘contacted’ the Reds regarding the possibility of loaning Williams until the end of the season.

The report claims that the 17-cap ace has ‘cut short a break in Dubai’ in order to discuss options ahead of the deadline.

This season Williams has made eight appearances for Jurgen Klopp’s side across all competitions – providing two assists in the process.

Valued at £7.2million and under contract on Merseyside until 2025 (Transfermarkt), Liverpool will know they have a valuable asset on their hands in the Welshman.

Whilst the club are believed to be ‘open’ to sanctioning the loan departure, in the long-term the Reds will want to obtain maximum value from their academy graduate.

Further exposure at the senior level and indeed a strong finish to the 2021/22 campaign could help to put Williams in the shop window and perhaps attract summer suitors.

Another youngster in the shape of Conor Bradley will likely be the new understudy to Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Elsewhere, there could also be exits for Nat Phillips, Takumi Minaino and Divock Origi as the 11pm
