Virals: Liverpool 'closing in' on Celtic starlet Ben Doak
Liverpool are reportedly ‘closing in’ on a deal to bring highly-rated Celtic teenager Ben Doak to Anfield.
The 16-year-old Scottish youth international is yet to sign a professional contract with the Hoops and the Reds would therefore only be required to pay compensation.
Believed to have drawn admiration from numerous clubs, it appears that Liverpool are winning the race to sign the Scotland youth ace.
That’s according to a report from The Athletic, as cited by James Pearce on Twitter.

The report claims that the ‘draw’ of a move to Merseyside has proved ‘too powerful’ for the one-cap Scotland Under 17 starlet to ignore.
This season Doak – hailed as ‘fantastic’ by Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou – has made two senior appearances in the Scottish Premiership.
Following the signing of Bobby Clark, Kaide Gordon and Harvey Elliott in recent years, this could be yet another example of the Reds building for the future under Jurgen Klopp.
Already boasting a plethora of exciting talent in the academy system, Liverpool’s next generation could already be in the building.
Adding the ‘generational talent’ of Doak to the ranks bodes well for the immediate and indeed long term prospects at Anfield.
