Virals: Joe Hart makes intriguing comments on his Celtic future
Celtic recently uploaded an interview with Hoops first choice goalkeeper Joe Hart to the club’s official Twitter account, ahead of the club’s pre-season fixtures which begin this week.
Perhaps the most interesting part of the interview were the comments that the former Manchester City and England goalkeeper said about his future as a player and what he is learning from pre-season under Ange Postecoglou.
“I’m super aware of it. I think that comes with age, that comes with me knowing full well that I’ve not got as long as I once had in this game. So I’m going to try and take every little thing that I can from it, and that comes from hard work.”

Hart’s comments are certainly interesting, as the player is indicating that he seemingly doesn’t have that much time left in the game. That does make sense, as he is now 35-years-old, which means that he in the veteran stage of his career.
However, 35 isn’t that old for a goalkeeper, and Hart could easily play with the Hoops for a few more seasons, but with those comments it does make sense why the Bhoys looked to bring in Benjamin Siegrist in the current transfer window to provide a challenge to Hart, and perhaps even take his place in the Celtic side in the future.
There is no doubt that Hart will be Celtic’s number one goalkeeper in the upcoming season, injury permitting. But maybe in a year’s time, when he is 36-years-old, the Hoops and the player will begin to start winding down his time as the first choice goalkeeper.
However, if Hart is still enjoying his football in a year’s time, and the Hoops are happy with how things are going when it comes to Hart, then perhaps the goalkeeper will still be a main player for Celtic over the next 24 months.
