Vince McMahon retires from WWE: His replacements following shock departure revealed
Vince McMahon has retired from WWE today, making the announcement this afternoon in a Twitter statement.
Vince turns 77 later this year, and it was because of his age that he seemed to suggest that he’s going to be stepping away from the company with immediate effect.
Prior to his retirement, McMahon served as WWE’s CEO and Chairman, and also headed up the company’s creative team for Raw and SmackDown.
And now, based on either WWE’s official statement or reports, we know who is going to be replacing Vince in his various roles.
Firstly, taking over as the Chairwoman of WWE is Stephanie McMahon, Vince’s daughter. Stephanie has been serving as the Interim Chairwoman since June 17, when Vince temporarily stepped down.
That isn’t where Stephanie’s responsibilities stop though, as WWE confirmed that she’s also going to be the co-CEO, sharing that role with Nick Khan, the company’s President.
Both of those new job roles were confirmed by WWE, but the company didn’t comment on who is going to be taking over as Head of Creative.
However, that information has been made available by Fightful Select, who report that Bruce Prichard will be taking over from Vince with regards to his creative roles
Producers and some members of creative were told that Bruce Prichard is taking over Vince McMahon’s television duties moving forward.
Interestingly, it seems like Vince isn’t completely done with WWE just yet, as Fightful also reports that Bruce will be taking some directions from McMahon during this transition period.
