Vince McMahon makes John Cena claim during WWE Raw promo
Vince McMahon made an appearance on WWE Raw to make a huge announcement for the fans, confirming John Cena will be in the ring on next week’s edition of Monday Night Raw.
It’s been almost a year since Cena stepped foot in the WWE ring, joining forces with Dominik Mysterio and Rey Mysterio for a six-person tag team match after the trio had been linking up for a while in 2021, taking on Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso and Roman Reigns on multiple occasions.
Cena and the Mysterios kept coming out on top, however, his last solo appearance in the ring ended in defeat at SummerSlam 21 back in August of last year.
He was pinned by Reigns who claimed the WWE Universal Championship to make up for the handful of tag team losses.
It is yet to be seen if Cena will compete in a one-on-one match on Monday, but you’d hope so given the big build up from McMahon this week.
After strutting to the ring in trademark McMahon fashion, he addressed the crowd, thanking them for helping make Raw such a massive success.
McMahon said: “Thank you, tonight marks the 1,517th edition of Monday Night Raw. Which makes it, well it continues to make it, the longest running episodic television show in history and for that, I say thank you!”
After pausing to receive the adulation from the crowd, he continued: “Raw’s been on the air for almost 30 years, 20 of those 30 years has been dominated by the greatest WWE Superstar of all time.
“And that man makes a return, to Raw, live here next week, I reference to no less than, Mr Hustle, loyalty and respect, John Cena!”
