Kurt Angle has recreated the iconic John Cena debut promo with his daughter & it's amazing

John Cena burst onto the WWE scene as a plucky challenger 20 years ago, trying his luck against one of the best in the business, Kurt Angle.

He decided to throw himself into the limelight, accepting an open challenge from Angle who was on top form at the time and was one big scalp for anyone.

Angle had forced Hulk Hogan to tap out and he pinned The Undertaker on SmackDown to cement his place as one of the top names in WWE at the time.

Who knew that after that night, Cena would go on to have the career he would have and be one of the greatest wrestlers of all time.

That’s something that certainly happened, with the WWE having ‘Cena Month’ to celebrate the 20-year anniversary of his debut.

The Olympic gold medallist paid homage to Cena in his own way, by recreating his debut on his drive with his daughter.

On SmackDown in 2002, Vince McMahon came out and introduced Angle who went on a tirade with the fans, slagging them off for not giving him the respect he felt he deserved.

After that, he decided to lay down an open challenge to the locker room, if anyone thought they had what it takes to take him on, then come out and be counted for. He also promised he’d go easy on anyone brave enough to take him on.

Cena made his way to the ring and Angle was curious as to why he thought he could take on the American Hero. He replied with ‘ruthless aggression’ and hit Angle with a cheap shot to kick start the match.

He dominated the early part of the encounter, nearly beating Angle, having him on down for a two count on a number of occasions. However, Angle battled back and pinned Cena to get the win you’d expect over the plucky challenger.
