Vince McMahon, Cody Rhodes and the possible WrestleMania opponents for Pat McAfee
It was announced yesterday that Pat McAfee will be wrestling in a match over WrestleMania weekend in Dallas next month.
The SmackDown commentator was offered the match by Vince McMahon during the WWE Chairman’s appearance on The Pat McAfee Show. No details have emerged on what night McAfee will be in action nor who he’ll be facing on the grandest stage of them all.

The industry was awash with rumours last week, with reports that Vince McMahon is about to step back into a wrestling ring for a match at WrestleMania. McMahon hasn’t competed in an actual match for over ten years and at 76-years-old it’s questionable what sort of performance he could put on, despite being in incredible shape for man of his age. His appearance on the Pat McAfee Show led fans to believe it could be to set-up an angle with the former NFL star that would lead to a meeting at WrestleMania. But even though he granted McAfee the match, there were no real signs it could be against himself or any tension to build the possibility of a clash on. There’s still time to create that story but given their rapport during this past week’s interview it looks unlikely at this stage.

With Vince McMahon handing the match to Pat McAfee, could his opponent be someone McMahon has been similarly handing out opportunities to in Austin Theory. Theory has been sharing the screen with the WWE Chairman since Survivor Series, and it would be a logical next step in their relationship for Vince to grant the former NXT
