Back-up plan for Seth Rollins at WWE WrestleMania if Cody Rhodes’ return is scrapped

All eyes are Monday Night Raw tonight to if WWE’s planned WrestleMania story for Seth Rollins begins with a debut for Cody Rhodes.

Raw will emulate from Jacksonville, Florida and many fans are speculating that if we are to see a Rollins vs. Rhodes match in Dallas next month, then tonight is the night for the angle to begin. This despite still no real sign of Rhodes’ re-signing with the company.

If Cody doesn’t make a WWE return, an alternative path to WrestleMania will need to be forged for Rollins and we may have got a tease of what could happen during a last night’s WWE Live event in Savannah, GA.

The main event of the show saw Finn Balor retain his WWE United States Championship in a triple-threat victory over current rival Damian Priest and Seth Rollins. Fuelling the idea that The Visionary could be added to the United States Title picture if he’s planned meeting with Cody Rhodes doesn’t come to fruition.

Balor and Rollins are no strangers to meeting on the grandest stage of them all. The pair were part of a show-stealing Intercontinental Title match with The Miz at WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans. Where the trio opened the event and Rollins walked away as the new champion.

There is still contrasting reports on Rhodes’ return to WWE and many fans have seen the location of Raw this week and Rollin’s lack of opponent for WrestleMania and put the two ideas together. However, the talk is that a match with Seth is on the table for Cody if he can sign in time.

Stay tuned to GiveMeSport as plans for WrestleMania look set to finalized, less than two weeks before the big event on Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 April in Dallas.
