Vikki Wall aboard for Meath's All-Ireland hat-trick bid

Meath star Vikki Wall has confirmed that she will be part of the Royal County's quest for a hat-trick of All-Ireland titles in 2023.

After defeating Kerry in this year's TG4 decider, the Dunboyne powerhouse signed a two-year contract with North Melbourne in the AFLW. And so doubts emerged whether Wall would be part of new Meath boss Davy Nelson's plans for next year, but speaking to broadcaster Jerome Quinn, as part of an upcoming documentary for Meath Ladies/LGFA, the former player of the year of confirmed she will be on board.

"I'll be playing for Meath," she revealed.

"I have a two-year contract but it doesn't start until August of next year. It's a semi-professional contract, it's not the whole year round."

The nature of the semi-pro contract allows Wall to be involved in both codes.

"It was one of the reasons I chose North Melbourne, they know how much I value playing football," she added.

"It was part of the clause, allowing me to go over late last year."

Wall believes there is more to come from Meath. A lot done, more to do, it would seem.

"There is so much potential in Meath, so much to achieve. Sport is so fickle, if you sit on your laurels for even a year things can change so quickly.

"Meath were a senior team and then swiftly a Division 3 and then swiftly intermediate team and I don't want to let it get back to that. With the talent we have in Meath we should not be competing at those levels."
