Victim 'shaken' after bogus window cleaner steals purse

A homeowner was left 'shaken' after a bogus window cleaner who asked to fill up his buckets with water stole a purse containing money once inside the house.

Police have launched an investigation after the 'concerning incident' in the Tonge Fold area of Bolton on March 20. It was reported that a man knocked on the victim's door asking if he wanted their windows cleaning between 10am and 1pm.

After then asking if he could fill up his buckets with water, police believe the man made off with a purse containing money. The man was described as being in his 40s, with a stocky or muscular build, a local accent and carrying two yellow buckets.
