'Very good' - Journalist claims Rangers player has 'won a lot of people over'

Journalist Chris Jack has claimed that Rangers defender Calvin Bassey has won over a lot of people after impressing this season.

The 22-year-old has really established himself this season after featuring just seven times all campaign in the last campaign of the Scottish Premiership. He’s already featured a whopping 37 times in all competitions in the current campaign, producing an impressive five assists and is averaging a 6.7 rating per game.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst has even sung the praises of the defender.

And, he now seems to have acquired another fan as Chris Jack spoke to GIVEMESPORT and has praised Calvin Bassey for his impressive performances whilst highlighting what he offers to the team.

“I think Bassey, over the last few weeks, has won over a lot of people. I think he has almost cemented his place as a very good squad option for Rangers,” Jack said.

TIF Thoughts on Calvin Bassey…

Calvin Bassey has been a great asset to Rangers this season having shown his versatility by playing over 16 games at both left-back and centre-back, which has made life easier for the manager. Indeed, with the cluster of fixtures that Rangers have, by still being in the SFA Cup and the Europa League, it is important to have players that can cover multiple positions across the pitch, and Bassey has been a brilliant example of this for Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

His recent form in the Europa League has been particularly eye-catching as he’s been awarded player ratings of 7.3 against Borussia Dortmund and 7.6 against Red Star Belgrade.

Rangers fans have every right to be excited too as he’s still young with a whole heap of time left to develop.
