Vernon Kay says 'that makes me a little bit weepy' after opening video from friend

Vernon Kay admits he was left “a little bit weepy” after being sent a video from a friend in Ibiza.

The 50-year-old Radio 2 presenter revealed a friend had sent him a video from a super club in the popular tourist hotspot. But instead of embracing the tunes, the people inside the venue were on their mobile phones.

Vernon, who has hosted radio shows for over 20 years, says the sight made him feel “weepy inside”. Instead, he encouraged revellers to “live in the moment” and put their phones down.

The BBC radio star recently took his show on tour, showing off his own DJing skills. His Radio 2 Dance Sounds of the 90s show went to venues such as Albert Halls in his hometown of Bolton with more shows in Bristol, Liverpool and Coventry coming up.

Vernon initially joined Radio One in 2004, leaving in 2012 to take time out with wife Tess Daly and their two daughters. He later joined Radio X when it
