Vernon Kay's 'feisty' rows with Tess Daly and family as he calls out sneaky move
Vernon Kay has issued a humorous rant about the card game Uno, which many may be able to relate to this Christmas.
The BBC Radio 2 host said he and his family often had "feisty" quarrels over which rules are officially accepted within the game.
Speaking to his listeners this month, he began by telling them that he was more of a games person than somebody who watched television over the festive period.
"I like playing games with the family, you know what I mean, because it's the time of year that I really prove myself and shine as the Kay household Uno champion," he shared.
"Love it! Am I competitive? Yes. Is it important? Yes."
Questioning his co-star Janine about her gameplay tactics, she added: "Uno is a thing right, do you double down on a plus two?"
When she agreed that she does, he countered: "See, those aren't the official rules Janine."
He went on to say: "And, it's a debate that always always always, [becomes] quite feisty in our house, by doubling down on a plus two.
"I don't think you should do it, I really don't think you should do it because I don't think that's how it should be played, because you can't pick up four on a plus two.
"If you laid down a plus four and then you pick up eight, you're never going to win! Janine is shrugging."
After receiving messages from listeners who also experienced game-related squabbles, Vernon concluded with advice for peaceful play.
He added: "If you played by the rules, they'd be no arguments. Just leave it, it's a plus two, it's nothing else, you can't double down on a plus two!".
