Varane and Rashford to start — Manchester United predicted line up vs Crystal Palace

Marcus Rashford, Raphael Varane and David de Gea could all return to the starting XI as Manchester United take on Crystal Palace on Tuesday.

Erik ten Hag has had a positive start to life as United boss with back-to-back victories over Liverpool and Melbourne Victory in his first two outings. His side will return to facing Premier League opposition for their third friendly when they take on Palace — the team that beat them on the final day of last season.

The new manager has been starting with strong sides in his first two games in charge, rather than experiment with the youngsters he has brought with him, and there is no hint that will change against the Eagles. That's especially as he is likely to be boosted with some key returns.

De Gea and Varane missed the last outing due to minor knocks, but both are expected to be fit and could come straight back into the side. If one player has earned his way into the starting line up then it may well be Eric Bailly, who has played brilliantly off the bench in both games and has been instrumental in two goals. He could come in to partner the Frenchman with Luke Shaw and Diogo Dalot the full-backs.

With no end to the Frenkie de Jong deal in sight, Ten Hag might stick with what appears to be his first choice midfield trio — at least until Christian Eriksen links up with the squad back in Manchester — of Bruno Fernandes, Fred and Scott McTominay.
