VAR vote LIVE as SPFL clubs go the polls over historic move for video technology
Today's the day Scottish football could step into the future as the 42 senior sides make a decision on implementing VAR at the league’s annual general meeting.
The SPFL is currently one of few top-level leagues not to use video technology.
And it's thought that all 12 top-flight clubs will be in favour of the role out which could come after the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar this winter.
The resolution requires 75% of cinch Premiership clubs, 75% of clubs in the cinch Championship and 75% of clubs in cinch Leagues 1 and 2 combined to vote in favour of the move.
Premiership clubs would bear the cost of VAR on a sliding scale.
VAR has been widely used in the Champions League since the 2019/20 season.
While Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou claimed in January that VAR was needed to protect players from wild challenges.
