VAR explain why Patrick Dorgu's goal stood in Arsenal vs Man United despite complaints
It has been explained why Patrick Dorgu's stunning strike for Manchester United against Arsenal was not ruled out for a handball. Former Premier League referee Mike Dean relayed the stance of VAR which stated any offence being committed was "inconclusive".
Dean said on Sky Sports: "We've just heard from the VAR, Paul Tierney, and it's a fair comment, it's inconclusive, you can't tell. That's what VAR just said, it looks like it's hit his hip. On field decision is correct, goal is given."
The Denmark international combined superbly with Bruno Fernandes before unleashing a cannon from the edge of the box.
It looked as though the ball may have brushed his hand in the build up, but replays showed that it was unclear with the goal being given as such.
