US Open 2022 schedule, plus how to watch as Emma Raducanu defends her title

Emma Raducanu has made history by becoming the first qualifier to reach a grand slam tennis final in the open era – and the first British woman to reach a grand slam singles final in over 40 years.

Emma only made her WTA Tour debut a few months ago as a wildcard, and earlier this year she became the youngest British woman to reach the last 16 of Wimbledon in the open era.

Since then, her phenomenal form has continued, as she's progressed through the US Open's qualifying rounds and main tournament without dropping a set so far.

And on Saturday (September 11), she will meet another highly-regarded rising star, Leylah Annie Fernandez, in the tournament final.

Leylah won her first WTA tour title at the 2021 Monterrey Open in Mexico, and her path to the US Open final has seen her win against the likes of Naomi Osaka, Angelique Kerber and Aryna Sabalenka.

Channel 4 announced on Saturday morning that it has secured a last-minute deal with Amazon to broadcast its live stream of Emma and Leylah's match on free-to-air television in the UK. Coverage will start at 8pm, so if you had plans to watch Deadpool tonight, why not watch the tennis instead?

"We didn't know we'd secured the deal until late on Friday night and so many people have gone above and beyond to make it happen," said C4 chief content officer Ian Katz. "But Channel 4 is all about finding ways to let our viewers share great national moments, whether it's Bake Off or big sporting events like the cricket World Cup final or US Open final."

If you're in the UK or Ireland, you can also watch Emma and Leylah's US Open final match-up on Amazon Prime Video, which is the rights-holder for the tournament
