Urgent appeal after bikes stolen from Salford University by 'youths with bolt cropper'

Police are urgently appealing for information after a number of bikes were stolen from Salford University.

In CCTV stills shared on Facebook, three youths can be seen inside a bike shed, one of whom is holding a pair of bolt croppers, police say.

In the footage, the suspects were seen to take three bikes. Officers from the Salford Neighbourhood Team are now urgently appealing for information after a rise in bike thefts from earlier this year.

In the post shared on Facebook, a spokesperson said: "Officers from the Salford Neighbourhood Team are appealing for information following an increase in bike thefts from Salford University.

"On this occasion three youths enter the bike shed on the University Campus and proceed to take three bikes using bolt croppers.

"If anyone recognises these youths or has any relevant information regarding these thefts please contact PS 13490 Atherton on 13490@gmp.police.uk quoting CRI/06FF/0002622/24.

"Reports can be made anonymously, no requirement to provide personal details. All information will be held in confidence. Alternatively any information can be shared to Crimestoppers via 0800 555 111."
