URC team news: John Ryan to make 200th Munster appearance against Edinburgh

John Ryan will make his 200th appearance for Munster when they visit Edinburgh in the BKT United Rugby Championshipon Friday while Simon Zebo is handed his first league start since September.

Ryan becomes the 13th Munster player to reach the double-century landmark, having returned to the province in October after Wasps were placed into administration.

The 34-year-old made a try-scoring impact off the bench in the win over Connacht last weekend and is promoted to the starting line-up along with fellow front-rowers Jeremy Loughman and Niall Scannell.

The other change in the pack sees Gavin Coombes start at No 8 in place of Alex Kendellen, who is named among the replacements.

Tadhg Beirne continues his second-row partnership with Jean Kleyn while captain Peter O'Mahony retains his place in the back row despite his early withdrawal against Connacht after taking a bang to the nose.
