URC quarter-finals confirmed as Ulster host Munster

Ulster will host Munster, and Leinster will take on the Glasgow Warriors in the quarter-finals of the United Rugby Championship in two weeks time.

The line-up for the quarter-finals, and the play-off bracket have been confirmed after a dramatic final round of regular season games.

Leinster's 35-25 win against Munster at the Aviva Stadium had no impact on the defending champions' seeding, with Leo Cullen's side having long secured a first place finish.

And Glasgow's 28-11 defeat to Edinburgh means the Warriors will now travel to Dublin in the quarter finals in a fortnight.

Munster knew a win against Leinster would guarantee a home quarter-final, but they needed a bonus-point win to finish in the top two, after Ruhan Nel's late try for the Stormers gave them a 26-21 win at the Scarlets earlier in the day.

In the end, Munster could get neither, their 10-point defeat to Leinster meaning they will have to travel to Kingspan Stadium to face Ulster, who saw off the Sharks last night to book their own home tie.

And although it's a daunting task, Johann van Graan's side only have to look four weeks into the past for their most recent win in Belfast.

The winner of that interpro will be away to either the Stormers or Edinburgh in the semi-finals.

On Leinster's side of the draw, Leo Cullen's side would host either the Bulls or Sharks if they get past Glasgow.

Kickoff times are yet to be confirmed, with the games taking place on the weekend of 3-5 June.
