United Rugby Championship Team of the Week

The BTK United Rugby Championship took centre stage this weekend as the race for the play-off spots come down to the final four games.

Munster, Connacht and Leinster all claimed victories, against Ospreys, Zebre and Dragons, repectively, while Ulster managed to grab a losing-bonus point in Glasgow.

Here's our team of the week.

15. Tiernan O'Halloran (Connacht)

The six-cap Ireland international showed great awareness to take a quick lineout and then finish off for Connacht's fourth in a 13-try thriller in what was a victory made more complicated than it needed to be. But O'Halloran was solid and composed, also providing an assist for Caolin Blade, on his 219th appearance for the province.

14. Owen Lane (Cardiff)

Wales international Lane scored two early tries for Cardiff to lay the foundations for victory over their Benetton, coming off his wing for the first and then running a good support line for the second.

13. Malakai Fekitoa (Munster)

In the same week as Munster announced that the centre would leave at the end of the season, with fellow New Zealander Alex Nankivell arriving, the World Cup winner was a lively operator in the midfield. He scored the second try of the game and combined well with Antoine Frisch for the third. Gets moved to outside centre for this selection

12 Jack Dixon (Dragons)

In an incredibly difficult week for Welsh rugby, Dixon left everything out on the field against Leinster before retiring injured at half-time. The centre hit like a ton of bricks over his 40 minutes and deserves a place in the side. Incredible shift in trying circumstances.
