United Rugby Championship: Leinster on top after beating Ospreys, wins for Connacht and Glasgow Warriors

James Lowe sent a message to Ireland head coach Andy Farrell after he scored a superb try in Leinster’s 29-7 win over the Ospreys at the RDS on Saturday.

The wing was ruled out for the opening two weekends of the Six Nations but put in an impressive second-half performance for his province against the Welshmen.

It was a perfectly timed showing in the United Rugby Championship fixture, as Lowe looks to put pressure on the in-form Mack Hansen in the international team.

Fellow Ireland internationals Jordan Larmour and Cian Healy scored tries either side of Morgan Morris’ sin-binning for infringing close to the Ospreys’ try-line.

Leinster struggled to build on their 15-0 interval lead in wet conditions until Lowe was unleashed down the left wing.

Ospreys captain Rhys Webb jinked through to make it 22-7, but Scott Penny claimed Leinster’s hard-earned bonus point with seven minutes remaining.
