'United fans summed up' - Gary Neville mocked after Man City dominate Manchester derby

"They're getting done this lot."

That's what Gary Neville said in a video that he published on his own Twitter page just an hour before Sunday's Manchester derby kicked off. The former Manchester United captain was reacting to the Manchester City team news - likely the absences of Rodri and Ruben Dias.

Turning to fellow pundit and former City man Micah Richards, Neville seemed extremely confident of a United victory. It's safe to say he probably felt a little daft when City went into half-time 4-0 up.

First-half doubles for Erling Haaland and Phil Foden put City in control, before the pair both completed their hat-tricks in the second half to put City out of sight.

The pair became the first and second City players to score hat-tricks against United in Premier League history, while Haaland became the first player in the competition's history to score hat-tricks in three consecutive home games.

While a stunning second-half strike from Antony and a brace from Anthony Martial restored a little pride for the visitors, City were fully deserving of their 6-3 win. Pep Guardiola's side continued their unbeaten start to their Premier League title defence, moving a point behind Arsenal who currently top the table.

As City began to run away with the game, fans were quick to remind Neville of his pre-match comments on social media.

@ChampionshipJC: Aged like yoghurt in the sun

@Aar0n____: This might be the worst tweet of all time

@ftblRK: United fans summed up

@Nayyrobiii: Gary Neville is silentttt on this commentary. This is the least I’ve heard him speak ever
